All of Westpork’s farms are accredited under the Australian pork industry quality program, APIQ®.

This ensures that all pork produced on our farms has been raised under strict animal welfare, biosecurity and food safety guidelines and is safe for our consumers to eat.

The farms operate under a clear set of operating procedures which cover the seven modules which form the APIQ® Standards.  These include Management; Food Safety; Animal Welfare; Biosecurity; Traceability; Environment; and Transport.

Each farm is internally audited twice per year to ensure procedures are being followed, identify areas for improvement and create Corrective Actions requests where needed. In addition to the two internal audits a third party also externally audits our farms.

In addition to standard APIQ® accreditation, Westpork’s indoor breeder herds all hold optional APIQ® Gestation Stall Free verification, and the free range farm at Mount Barker is certified APIQ® Free Range.

APIQ® accreditation gives our management team, customers and consumers alike, peace of mind that our pork is being produced to the highest standard of quality.
